Barbados has many international-level golf courses and facilities and tourists are welcome for a fee to play at any one of the many luxurious and scenic grounds. Many hotels and resorts offer packages to their guests to play any many of the courses around.

The island is increasingly becoming known as one of the top golf vacation spots in the Caribbean. In fact, Fodor's Caribbean 2006 travel guide states that golfers in Barbados can choose from among some of the bet championship courses in the Caribbean.

In December 2006, Barbados hosted the World Gold Championships Barbados World Cup – a four-day tournament held at the Sandy Lane Resort on the island's beautiful west coast.

Famed golfer, Tiger Woods, also chose Barbados and the Sandy Lane Golf Course, as the venue for his wedding.
